The most common question I get from my clients during their print order is "What size is best for my walls?" Most are uneducated on the actual visual sizes of prints. With a background in professional mounting and framing, I understand the importance of choosing the correct print size to enhance the decor in your home. The wrong size can not only create awkward negative space, it can be a waste in the cost of framing.
Below is an example of two sizes one common and one not so common. 8x10s are a industry standard. It has become the "large" table top print size and in my opinion, table top is where it should remain. Having an 8x10 presented as a focal piece on a wall without additional sizes around it, will become lost in a sea of sheet rock. A 30x40 print, however, is a less common print size but it is the most print for your money when it comes to focal wall art. This size is not only large enough to be placed over a mantle, headboard or couch, it is a print size that will become an heirloom for your family for years to come. Before you choose your next large family room picture, keep in mind that size does matter in the print world!
